Three positions on the USD 460 board of education (BOE) are up for election in the November 4, 2025 local election. Until recently, these positions were held by Layne Frick, Sara Jantz, and Susan Rostetter. Susan Rostetter resigned from the BOE in late August.

Six individuals have filed as candidates for the school board. They are Layne Frick, Debra Honaker, Sara Jantz, Ryan Jelle, Alyssa Rostetter, and Addie Schmucker. Addie Schmucker recently moved out of state and is ineligible to serve since she no longer resides within Hesston USD 460.

At its November meeting, the BOE will appoint one of the newly elected Board members to fill the unexpired term of Susan Rostetter, which will extend to the second Monday of January, 2026. Then, that newly elected Board member will begin his/her full 4-year term, extending to the second Monday of January 2030.

Any adult U.S. citizen who resides within the Hesston USD 460 boundaries is eligible to run for office.
